A contraindication is a specific situation in which a drug, procedure, or surgery should not be used because it may be harmful to the person.

What makes a person ineligible for body sculpting?

Pregnancy and nursing mothers
Uncontrolled diabetes or any other uncontrolled medical condition affecting healing
Uncontrolled Thyroid Gland Dysfunction
Uncontrolled Hypertension
Cardiac Arrhythmias or Heart-Disease
Recent or current history of cancer or actively undergoing radiation or chemotherapy

Silicone or collagen injections in the areas to be treated
Liver/kidney disease
Photosensitivity to 650 to 660nm of light
Immuno-suppressed disorders
Current infection (including viral)
Implants in the area to be treated, to include tattoos with metal ink
Individuals must refrain from the use of blood thinners, antibiotics (within 10 days prior to treatment), steroids (3 weeks prior).

Be aware of the following risks which include but are not limited to:
  • Mild to moderate discomfort or pain. Many patients describe an intense heating sensation during RF therapy.
  • Redness or swelling of the skin that can last up to 24 hours
  • Nausea can occur as the body tries to process the liquified fat
  • Increased urination/bowel movements up to several days following treatment if fat/cellulite reduction is being performed

Though rare, I am aware the following may also be considered risks not limited to: Burns- although highly unlikely, may occur. If a burn does occur, it will typically heal over time without issue. It is possible, although extremely rare, that the burn will lead to scarring or pigment changes in the skin.

*We ask the necessary questions to create a safe experience for you. It is your ultimate responsibility to know your limitations and to disclose the necessary information before receiving your service. If unsure, please consult with your physician before scheduling.

1. Not everyone is a candidate for all services offered.

We take great pride in providing safe and effective treatment for each client. With this in mind, we do ask certain questions for your safety and protection. For example, a dialysis patient would not be a good candidate for our services. Also, some procedures cannot be performed if you are on a pacemaker. Are you currently on your menstrual cycle? That could affect which service we are able to provide at that time. A more detailed list to help determine if a candidate is eligible can be found on the FAQ page. You will also see this information when booking your appointment.

2. Drinking water is ESSENTIAL to many services that we provide.

Water may not be everyone's favorite drink but when getting a non-invasive fat reduction procedure like the ones we provide, drinking water can be a big game-changer. We recommend drinking two liters to one gallon of water (or as close as possible to it) during the 24 hours leading up to any treatments they receive and for the days following the service, for as long as you are on a treatment plan. Several of the procedures introduce the breaking down of fat within the body. Drinking water aids in the disposal of this fat from the body.

3. Consumption of certain foods should be limited.

For the 24 hours leading up to and for the days following your appointment, it is a good idea to limit the number of carbs and sugary foods that you consume. This helps us to get an even better result for you when doing targeted fat reduction treatments. If your diet is one that requires the intake of these foods, we may still be able to provide the service with the understanding that the result may vary.

*Also, please limit the consumption of alcohol for at least 2 days before and during the course of your treatment.
